Catch up...

So I have been uber lazy with this blog, but hopefully i can start to catch up with work and keep this updated more often. This is going to be all over the place in hopes of saving time from doing separate entries.
Some beer highlights for me this past month would be the Bell's Two Hearted Chili I made during the Blizzard back in December. It was the best chili I have ever made. It was also vegetarian so that the old ball and chain could eat it too. I used "meat crumbles" made from who knows what, but they are very tasty and make great tacos also. They are made from Morning Star if you want to try them out.
A couple weeks back we had the Bell's Hop Slam release parties. My personal favorite was at North Bowl ( northbowlphilly.com ). We had Hop Slam, Oarsman, Two Hearted, and Amber Ale on draft. You paid $20 to enter into a bowling tournament that also included two beers of your choice. The winner got a huge basket of swag from Bell's. I had a lot of friends and Family come out to that one so it was extra kick ass.
This past week I went into the suburbs and ate at Tap and Table. They have the best bottle list that i have seen in a long time if not ever. There was 5-8 beers of every style, that is the best of the best within that category. They had a very nice sour/lambic section of which i grabbed the Hanssens Geuze. That paired up very well with my Braised Short Ribs with an Old Scratch Lager reduction. A little sweet, a little sour. Very Nice.
On another note, I got the kegerator set up with a dual C02 gauge and two faucets now. So i can now have one homebrew and one commercially available beer. My first keg from a brewery in a while wasn't too far from the beaten path. I got Bell's Two Hearted Ale. It's a stand by IPA that i can never get tired of.
This week I have an event at Bridgids in Fairmount. We are doing a Brasserie Lefebvre night. They are a Belgian Brewery that makes one of our better selling Wit beers, Blanche de Bruxelles (AKA- Mannekin Pis), which will be on draft. We will also be having Barbar on draft, and a new beer from them called Hopus. It is a Belgian Strong Golden with more of a hop presence than Duvel, but on a similar note. The first 12 people to show up get a Hopus glass for free. All beers will be $1 off and the event goes from 7-10. Hope to see you out there.
Well, now that my fingers are numb. Again, i hope to update this a lot more going forward. Hope all of you are finding some tasty suds to drink. Kampai !!

Testing testing one two....

Hello beer people ! My name is Cameron and I'm a craft beer salesman for Shangys based in Emmaus, Pennsylvania. I will be using this blog to update everyone about upcoming events that I have arranged between the breweries and importers that we represent. I am also a home brewer and just about all I do or talk about revolves around beer. You might say I am obsessed.

I would like to start off with some kick ass events we will be putting on in January. We will be doing a three night stand with B United. Brendan Kingston, the Regional Rep, will be coming down to Host these events. We are going to be featuring Hitachino Nest beers for two of these events. One will be at the South Philly Tap Room (SPTR) on Januray 20th and the other will be at Kong on January 19th. These events will feature draft of these highly sought after brews. Draft list for the week will include Commemorative Ale, Espresso Stout, XH, Ginger, and White Ale. SPTR will feature all of those and Kong will have the White and Ginger on draft with multiple bottles. Please check back for exact details as time draws closer. We are going to be doing a beer dinner or beer pairing menu at Kong with these beers which might or might not be tickets, so I will keep it posted.

Also, Memphis Taproom will be hosting a weekend long celebration of B United beer starting on January 16th and ending on January 18th. Any beer that is in the B United portfolio is open game to be seen on draft that weekend and on the 18th when Brendan will be down. Expect some crazy and very rare beers. This is going to be a good one ! Check out the websites below to see what B United and Hitachino are all about.
