Catch up...

So I have been uber lazy with this blog, but hopefully i can start to catch up with work and keep this updated more often. This is going to be all over the place in hopes of saving time from doing separate entries.
Some beer highlights for me this past month would be the Bell's Two Hearted Chili I made during the Blizzard back in December. It was the best chili I have ever made. It was also vegetarian so that the old ball and chain could eat it too. I used "meat crumbles" made from who knows what, but they are very tasty and make great tacos also. They are made from Morning Star if you want to try them out.
A couple weeks back we had the Bell's Hop Slam release parties. My personal favorite was at North Bowl ( northbowlphilly.com ). We had Hop Slam, Oarsman, Two Hearted, and Amber Ale on draft. You paid $20 to enter into a bowling tournament that also included two beers of your choice. The winner got a huge basket of swag from Bell's. I had a lot of friends and Family come out to that one so it was extra kick ass.
This past week I went into the suburbs and ate at Tap and Table. They have the best bottle list that i have seen in a long time if not ever. There was 5-8 beers of every style, that is the best of the best within that category. They had a very nice sour/lambic section of which i grabbed the Hanssens Geuze. That paired up very well with my Braised Short Ribs with an Old Scratch Lager reduction. A little sweet, a little sour. Very Nice.
On another note, I got the kegerator set up with a dual C02 gauge and two faucets now. So i can now have one homebrew and one commercially available beer. My first keg from a brewery in a while wasn't too far from the beaten path. I got Bell's Two Hearted Ale. It's a stand by IPA that i can never get tired of.
This week I have an event at Bridgids in Fairmount. We are doing a Brasserie Lefebvre night. They are a Belgian Brewery that makes one of our better selling Wit beers, Blanche de Bruxelles (AKA- Mannekin Pis), which will be on draft. We will also be having Barbar on draft, and a new beer from them called Hopus. It is a Belgian Strong Golden with more of a hop presence than Duvel, but on a similar note. The first 12 people to show up get a Hopus glass for free. All beers will be $1 off and the event goes from 7-10. Hope to see you out there.
Well, now that my fingers are numb. Again, i hope to update this a lot more going forward. Hope all of you are finding some tasty suds to drink. Kampai !!
